Cornel Riklin

Cornel Riklin

Non-Executive Chairman

Cornel has over 20 years’ experience both as a company CEO and Managing Director and as a private equity investor. He is a founding partner of Caphaven LLP a private equity firm focussing on small company buy-outs and growth investments. Previously Cornel was CEO of two private equity owned businesses, European Directories and Findexa, and a partner at TPG Capital. Prior positions include Group Managing Director at Trinity Mirror plc, CEO of Borthwicks plc and five years as a strategy consultant at Bain & Company. Over the years Cornel has served on the board of a series of public and private companies and he holds an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Patrick Newton

Patrick was previously CEO of Helveta which he grew from start-up to ranking 11th in the 2010 Deloitte Fast 50, a ranking of the 50 fastest growing technology companies in the UK.  Prior to Helveta, Patrick was CEO of DACG Inc, a provider of professional services and software, which he took to a NASDAQ float in 1998 with revenues of $80mn and a 5 year CAGR of 80%.

Michael was formerly Chair of the Navigate Group where he oversaw the growth and sale of the business. He is a Board member of the Enterprise Board, University College London; Regent, University of Edinburgh: Advisory Board member, Edinburgh Centre for Low Carbon Innovation.

Thomas Makey

Non-Executive Director

Tom is an Investment Director at Gresham House Ventures and has been working as a venture capital investor since 2015, focusing on fast growing, early stage private companies across the technology and consumer sectors. Previously Tom spent six years at KPMG, working across a number of departments with a focus on private equity transactions and qualifying as a Chartered Accountant. Tom now acts as the Investor Director across a number of Gresham House Ventures’ portfolio companies, either as a Non-Executive Director or as a Board Observer.

Professor Mark Maslin

Chief Science Officer

Mark is a Professor of Climatology and Environmental Sciences at University College London. He is currently a Royal Society Industrial Fellow.

Ian Cole

Ian is a Chartered Accountant who qualified with PriceWaterhouse. Ian has held the posts of Group Financial Controller at Wheway PLC, Group Finance Director at Unicorn International PLC and Group Finance Director at Eliza Tinsley Group PLC.
