With over 50 million acres succumbing to fire in Canada this year, there is no question that wildfires are on the increase, and are putting the forest industry in the Pacific Northwest under even greater strain.

The reasons for this are complex, and at times controversial, but whatever our individual views on the situation, we must concede that the baseline is shifting. Why is that, what’s changing within fire affected areas, and what can foresters from other regions learn from experiences in the Pacific Northwest?

Watch Ben Crisford, chartered forester and geospatial AI specialist, in his latest webinar to explore:

– What tools do we have in our arsenal to proactively prepare for increases in wildfire

– Why tracking fire severity is important

– How and why the baseline is moving

– The difference fire severity insights can make to businesses tasked with salvaging recoverable volume

In this session, Ben takes a dive into the Pacific Northwest where he’s monitored forest health, fire severity and forest regeneration since 2018, and he shares key learnings which can be applied in regions around the world.
